      <image:title>Daily Prayer</image:title>
<image:caption>Daily Prayer Prayer is the air we breathe in communion with God. And much like the air we breathe, it’s easy to take for granted. How often can’t we fly through the blur of busyness of an entire day without a thought towards God? And so we set aside three times a day for intentional prayer to open a space and time to seek God’s face. We interrupt our daily living with set times of prayer, bringing ourselves to God-attention, expressing our intention to live all of our life in communion with God. The long-established pattern of God’s people was to structure their day around times of prayer. We read about Daniel who prayed three times a day, or the disciples who prayed at certain hours. Instead of trying to squeeze God somewhere into our day, we organize our day around communion with God, setting out a rhythm of three times for daily prayer.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We believe that our everyday practices, daily rhythms and relationships, and embodied habits are what, over time, form in us the life of Jesus we seek. These practices are like tools that the Holy Spirit uses to make the life of Jesus a practical reality in our daily lives.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - A beautiful yes to the way of Jesus</image:title>
<image:caption>So many visions of the good life are on offer but never deliver the life that is truly life. So where is the good way? Where is the way to a flourishing life? How can our lives be patterned after Jesus, where we live awake and alive to God’s presence everyday and everywhere? There is hope for something more - it’s found in the way of Jesus, who says “Come to me … learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” The Habitus Community provides people the opportunity to make their lives a beautiful yes to the way of Jesus - to do this in company with others and so display to a watching world “a light that is so lovely that they want with all their hearts to know the source of it." (M. L’Engle) We seek regular Christianity, which isn’t lowering the bar but rather raising it, making “the very radical demands of the gospel a practical reality in daily life.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Room for good things to run wild</image:title>
<image:caption>A rule of life has been the church’s architecture for spiritual formation. All living things need a pattern or form to live and grow. A rule of life is an ancient life-hack, a support structure that is about participation in the fullness of God’s life - giving room for the good things of God to run wild. The Habitus Community organizes our lives around a common rule of life, a pattern of rhythms and routines (regular practices that shape our daily/weekly living), relationships (intentional relationships and community), and renunciations (the “no’s” we say which enable a stronger “yes” to Jesus) that frees us to live well and grow more like Jesus.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Faith Practices - How do you make a saint?</image:title>
<image:caption>The human heart, like clay, is soft, pliable; throughout our lives it is shaped, conformed. The question is: into what? How will your life take on the contours of Christ and not be pressed into the mold of the surrounding culture? It’s found in the little things, the everyday choices and regular practices that accumulate over time into a life. As Annie Dillard writes, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” It is these small, repeated acts that orient our heart and shape the kind of people we are becoming. We understand the Christian faith to be a way of life (a habitus) that is learned through faith practices and spiritual disciplines. The good way of Jesus is found in and formed through embodied and repeated practices that habituate our love for God and others. James K.A. Smith writes: “We learn to love, then, not primarily by acquiring information about what we should love but rather through practices that form habits of how we love.” We give ourselves to these everyday faith practices not as a form of legalistic obedience but to shape our lives and rightly order our loves, directing us to love God and our neighbors.</image:caption>
